Wk 8 Post 1 - post production

Promotion: Yesterday and today I worked on a movie poster and I am now working on creating an I Movie trailer. For the movie poster, I chose 3 photos, one of me from the shoot day, one of Lauren, and one of us both. I used the same font for the title as I did in the actual movie opening. For the font colors I stuck with what we had previously used, pink and blue. I came up with a release date which is May 2nd 2026. For the iMovie trailer, I chose one of the pre set options that we can edit ourself. So far, I have put in all the credits and names, as well as select the clips and photos I want to use. The only issue I am having is that the clips will not upload onto my MacBook so now I cannot upload them to the project for a while. It will only be a few hours till I can, then I will fix all the transitions, fonts, and anything else that I'm not happy with. I started to work on my first CCR, and I have plans for the other 3. For the third, me and lauren are going to record a pod...

Wk 7 Post 4 - Editing

Editing: Nothing saved from yesterday so I had to re do all of that. I actually forgot how to do the voice thing for Emma, so I tried looking for the same video. It took a while but I still found it. I re did all of that and I tried some different settings. I ended up doing the exact same thing as yesterday.  I double checked the music, and then I added the sound of a car screeching to a stop. I found it ok YouTube then converted it to an mp3 file. Then I put it into adobe, cut it, and timed it with the video. Then I watched the whole thing through one more time to make sure everything was right. I watched it through again with Lauren and we were both happy. Although we noticed a few things. In the car scene the backpack we had used in the first clip of the opening was visible, and Lauren looked at the camera at one point. We don't have time to refill so it will have to work. Next week we will add the final credits and we will be done.

Wk 7 Post 3 - Editing

Editing: Today my goal was to make Emma's voice in the car start to fade and sound muffled. I wasn’t sure how to accomplish this, so i asked my teacher. We tried to figure it out together but we were unsuccessful. Then i looked up a tutorial on youtube to get the general idea. Once i figured out where to go in adobe and what controls i needed to tweak, it was pretty easy. I played around with it for a bit until me and lauren were happy with how it sounded. One i finished and class was almost over, i might have forgotten to save the progress. I pulled out the flash drive before i had saved it but i feel like it may save automatically. If not, i do remember all that i did and what i’ll need to do to fix it just in case. It was a little disappointing but who knows it might work out. We will just have to wait until tomorrow to find out. We are so close to the end of the project i am very excited to see the final product after all this hard work and all the obstacles that have been thr...

Wk 7 Post 2 - Editing

Editing: Yesterday I worked mostly on the transitions. Today I focused on the sounds. The songs we decided on were this is me trying by Taylor Swift and Birds of a Feather by Billie Eilish. During the whole beginning up until Emma's car breaks down, we have the instrumental version of this is my trying playing. I decided to keep the volume at normal since there is no dialogue or sounds that the audience needs to hear. Then, after the car breaks down, we have the instrumental version of Birds of a Feather playing. Then once Emma opens up to lily in lily's car, the beginning of the birds of a feather lyrics start, then play till the end.

Wk 7 Post 1 - Editing

Editing: Started out this week slow. In class we were working on essays, so we didn't have too much editing time in class. Started by double checking the placement and timing and order of all the different clips. Once I was sure they were all in the right order I started to think about where I'd put different transitions. Which clips would transition into which, will it fade to black or white, how long would the transitions and fades last. Once I had all the transitions placed, I watched it through again to make sure it flowed smoothly and I asked Lauren what she thought, and we were both happy with it so far.

wk 6 post 4 - Post production

Post production: Today we focused on the details, again refining the pace and seamless transitions. Finding the right music was a challenge but we have it narrowed down even more. We are crafting each scene to unsure that the story unfolds smoothly, and the audience understands what is happening. The final touches like the credits will come later, but now i am still focused on this important stage of the editing process. Lauren and i are very excited to see how this will all turn out in the end.

Wk 6 Post 3 - Post production

Editing: Another day of editing. Focused on refining the pace if the movie and the flow with all of the cuts and transitions. Music selections have dwindles down to a few options, still not 100% sure what songs we will use. Finding the perfect music to match the film is very important to help convey what is happening in each scene. Then again we will add the credits last. Looking forward to see this project when its finished!

Wk 6 Post 2 - Post production

post production: today i focused on the same things as yesterday, i continued editing, focusing on the placement and cuts and transitions for a natural engaging flow. We also thought more about the music and where we would place it. We also talked more about the credits placement and font.

Wk 6 post 1 - post production

Post Production:   This week I plan on continuing to edit our movie. We are focusing on deciding where to place the cuts and transitions to make sure the flow of the story feels natural and engaging. In addition, we'll also be working on incorporating the music. Choosing the right soundtrack is crucial because it sets the mood and enhances the emotional impact. We want to make sure the music compliments the visuals perfectly. Finally, we will be adding the credits, we are really looking forward to seeing how this all turns out.

Wk 5 Post 3 - Post production

Editing planning: Today Lauren and I planned out how we are going to edit our movie. We decided when there will be pauses, sound changes, where our credits will be going, and what our transitions will be and what they are. We finalized what clips we are using and what order they will be in. We spent a decent amount of time selecting which shots were the most impactful and purposeful. We also discussed the placements of the credits and ensured that they would not disrupt the flow of the narrative. We reviewed the overall pacing of the movie to ensure a smooth viewing experience. Our next step will be to begin the actual editing process which we will begin next week. We will be working together to make decisions, and I will be executing these actions.

Wk 5 Post 2 - Post production

Editing: Today I continued cutting the clips and putting them in the correct order. I made sure that we didn't go over the time limit or under, and I took all the editing and effects will add in the future into consideration. As well as the sound which Lauren is working on. Right now, all our clips add up to about 2 minutes which is perfect. The lighting, costumes, camera angles, and the sound from our mics all worked out perfectly.

Wk 5 Post 1 - Post production

Editing: This week I started editing. I Deleted all the clips that we decided we didn't want to use. Then I tried to put them on the flash drive. At first it didn't work; I tried for 3 days with no success. Then I asked my teacher for help. He used his mic flash drive, then transferred them from there to mine. Then I uploaded them to adobe premiere pro where I ordered them. Today I started to cut them up and shorten them.

Wk 4 post 3 - production

Production: during filming, we had most everything go our planned way, but we ran into a few inconveniences. At the first location, my jacket's zipper got stick and broke, but we took a hair tie and wrapped it around the zipper, and it worked. Next at the second location, we had to have the hood of our car up, and we couldn't figure out how to open it. It took a few minutes but i eventually found a hatch that opens it.
